Applying Icons (Shortcuts workflow)
iOS doesn't let third-party apps change app icons directly. Every icon-customisation app on iOS, including Theme Studio, uses Apple's Shortcuts app as the bridge. The icon you see on the Home Screen is technically a shortcut that opens the real app.
Step 1: Export your icons
From Export List, tap Export All. The icons save to your Photos library.
Step 2: Open Shortcuts
- Open Apple's Shortcuts app. If you've deleted it, reinstall from the App Store.
- Tap + in the top-right to create a new shortcut.
- Tap Add Action.
- Search for and select Open App.
- Tap the App placeholder and pick the app you want to customise.
Step 3: Add to Home Screen
- With your shortcut still open, tap the share icon at the top.
- Tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap the icon image preview, then Choose Photo (or Choose File) and select the icon you exported from Theme Studio.
- Edit the icon name underneath to match the app.
- Tap Add at the top-right.
The customised icon now lives on your Home Screen.
Step 4: Hide the original
Long-press the original app icon → Remove App → Remove from Home Screen. The app stays on your phone (you can still find it in the App Library or by Search), it just isn't cluttering the Home Screen alongside your custom version.
Repeating the process
Each app needs its own shortcut. For a full Home Screen of, say, 24 apps, you'll repeat steps 2 and 3 twenty-four times. It's a one-time setup; once placed, your customised icons stay until you delete them.
